What is infidelity?

Infidelity is the lack of loyalty, firmness and respect towards the person with whom we share a life, that is, a formal relationship. It refers to having a short and sporadic adventure outside the formal relationship with our partner.

Consequences of infidelity

Infidelity has both psychological and health consequences, in relation to health being unfaithful, promiscuous can cause Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) such as gonorrhea, herpes, human papilloma virus, AIDS or unwanted pregnancies. And the psychological consequences depend on the gender of the affected person, if she is a woman she can fall into depression, minimize her self-esteem if is man can behave aggressively, that is, be violent, feel angry. With infidelities, wounds are created, wounds that are difficult to heal.

Who are more unfaithful? Men or women?

But who will be more unfaithful ?, men ?, women? Studies have been conducted to determine which sex tends to be more unfaithful and have shown that twice as many men have been unfaithful relative to the number of unfaithful women. To explain it mathematically for every 5 unfaithful women there are 10 unfaithful men.

As the numbers and studies say, men tend to be more unfaithful than women.

But now, can an infidelity be overcome? Many people, before knowing that their partners had been unfaithful to them, could have assured that they would never forgive an infidelity, but if it was a marriage with children, the financial obligations contracted by the spouses and if there is any love left, things would have to be thought very well. What is certain is that the decision is personal and if you decide to forgive, now you should not become a watchman for your partner.

Forgive an infidelity?

Some aspects you can take into account to make the decision to forgive or not. Here I tell you:

1.- Your partner was temporarily unfaithful whit  another person or established a long-term ex-marital relationship. How do you do about it?

2-What reason did the infidelity on the part of your partner? Was there carelessness on your part? How do you feel about this?

3.- Did infidelity cause you a lot of damage, to the point of blaming it all your life?

4.- Ask yourself: can you regain confidence in your partner?

6.- Ask yourself: do you still love your partner?

Not all of us make the same decision. Evaluate these aspects and make your own decision.
